The Power of Simulation, Part 1

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

When looking at the history of learning through simulation, one can review industries such as aviation, military, NASA, as well as the medical/nursing professions. By immersing students in a real life task or setting, they can apply the theoretical content that they have been learning in the classroom setting. Based on the Chinese proverb: "I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand", my presentation will be an active simulation for all participants to try. The simulation will include Mental/Behavioral Health concepts to encompass a double purpose. Not only will you have a better understanding of how impactful simulation can be in your classroom, but also how you can develop empathy toward the students (friends, family, etc.) with mental and behavior health issues. *This is Part 1 of a 2 part series that need to be taken together on the same day. It cannot be taken alone since only half of the simulation will be completed in the time frame.
